life is beautiful :)

Liquid fun!

Today was just another one of those semi boring – semi relaxing Sundays, which I usually spend sitting behind my computer randomly websurfing or watching some movies I’ve probably already seen before anyways. But not this time. From a time to a time a man just has to be more productive (in one way or another). This was one of those times. Today, I grabbed my Nikon and my tripod, set up some lights in my photo-studio (read: yeah right,  my balcony) and on top of all that, a bucket full of water, some milk and paint. The result = everything is wet, but a bunch of fun! Since you’re most likely wondering what the heck was going on, I’m posting a few shots. Enjoy!

Hello, December.

Hello, December

Dear December,

Please be awesome.

Yours sincerely,

Yes, I guess it’s that magical time of the year again. For most of the people, December is most likely the month of holidays, the month of happiness, and of course, what goes best hand in hand with holidays and brings us happiness? Food. And lots of it. Anybody who visits their grandparents for holidays, most likely knows damn well what I’m talking about right here. My guess is, you are probably eating while you are reading this right now. Bon apetit, dear! Therefore, if I’d have to label every month with an attribute, like I did with December, I’d probably say that January must be the month of diet,  just because of all of the food you throw in yourself in the previous month. It’s also the time of the year, when we usually recieve our first package of real snow, which unlike the November one, this time actually stays on the floor for longer than just one afternoon, and I think that’s exactly the way it should be, ’cause hey, if it feels like Mother Russia, why not look as Russia as well. :)

The clouds filled with snow finally found our tiny little chicken shapped country a few days ago, and this time it was even more special, because it was Oscars first snow. Yeah, I forgot to mention that some things changed since I’ve last wrote a post here. Oscar is  a super cute Jack Russell Terier. A dog, yes. And if you’re wondering what was his first interaction with snow looked like, just imagine a hyperactive rabbit on LSD, just running and jumping and jumping and some more running. :D

I remember myself saying that the old city centre won’t be seeing me for at least a week or more after the Christmas lights are turned on, not because I hate Christmas, ‘cmon, I’m not the Grinch, but because it’s usually filled with so many people you can’t even walk in the direction you are willing to, but rather just go where everybody else is going (probably towards the hot wine?) However, due to extreme weather conditions (very cold and a blizzard), I figured there aren’t going to be as many tourists, so Maja and I decided to go anyways. With Nikon in my backpack, and mulled hot wine in hers and all that combined with a bunch of sweaters, coats, jackets and gloves on us, we were set and ready for a walk in the Alaska. Ah sorry, I meant to say Ljubljana. Also, apparently we weren’t so much ready, since it was still cold and wet quite soon, but who cares. ;) I didn’t take as many photos as I initally thought I will, again, due to the weather, but the pictures you see are the ones from that day.

Usually, people decide what they want to change in their life on the New Years Eve, but I guess it’s different this year, since people are already taking things in their hands and making the changes themselves – Protests in Ljubljana, way to go. (:

Anyways, I have a great feeling about how December is going to turn out this year….. WAIT! Isn’t the world supposed to end on December 21st?
Ah, who cares, The Hobbit will be released on December 13th anyways. :D

Are you free?

Today, me and my little brother were flying a kite here on the shooting field, and I couldn’t help but notice that I haven’t been doing that for a really long time. It’s fascinating how simple the kite is, you can easily make it yourself, but still, it offers you just as much (or more) joy than a half a thousand euroes worth iPad or something similar. And that is just the thing that the older generations are often trying to tell us, how they didn’t have computers and as much tehnology and still they managed to enjoy themselves. Would I like it that way? Would I live their life? Most likely not, but I admit though, it’s fun to do it once in a while. :)
And now, for the first image on my new blog, I present to you, our infamous kite!

On the other hand, besides the fact that flying a kite is really calming and fun, you might also look at the kite as a synonym for freedom, perhaps even joy or happiness? Needless to say, people underestimate and sometimes even misunderstand the double meaning of the word freedom, the one that everybody should be trying to achieve and not just those, whose freedom has been physicaly taken from. There’s an old french saying that I really like and it goes like: I know but one freedom and that is the freedom of the mind” and it really connects with what I’ve said here so far.And now that I’m looking back at what I wrote, I’m starting to notice, that no matter how hard I try to keep these things here simple, my mind always seem to take me a bit more to the philosophical way, which is not really what I initially intended, but if that’s the way it’s going to be, then as the The Beatles famous song says, “Let it be”.

I’ll be closing for tonight with an ironic image about society that we live in and the life capitalism itself expects us to have, and with a deep question about life, I’d like you to ask yourself right now,

Are you free?

Just a test.

Well, here I am. It is 1:36 AM here at my place and I just decided to start writting a blog. Or blogging, I’m not really sure what it’s called. Now you just might ask yourself something like “Why would you do that?”. Why? I’m not really sure, but it’s probably more than less just because I’m really bored right now and because I like talking, talking and then some more talking. And even though I’m talking to myself right now, I feel totally comfortable doing it, and I even enjoy it somehow.

I realise the first post is supposed to be some cheesy story about me and who I am, but I’m not really here to tell you who I am because I’m still in the process of discovering that, even I’m not really sure who I am. But I am (mostly) sure of what I do and this is the reason I’m here.
And now back to my first mission, which is test the option of WRITING. Yes. And since writting obviously works, I need to make sure you people who read this (why would you even do that in the first place?) can celebrate my first words which will be: “TESTING 1, 2, 3.”
